About Me

I grew up in a small suburban town on the outskirts of Houston until I was 9.  However, my life changed for the better when my dad had an awesome job offer to move across the great atlantic ocean to a city called Dubai. I grew up with an appreciation of culture and a very diverse palette. While most kids my age were eating chicken fingers, I was diving into hummus, baba ganoush, and chicken shawarmas.  I was able to travel to places like India, London, Italy, and Morocco which only broadened my appreciation for food and culture. Today I appreciate every experience I had growing up and have become a better person and even better cook because of it.

I moved back to the states my senior year of HS and attended college in San Antonio. While in college I quickly realized I was not pursuing what I was passionate about. I decided to leave San Antonio and head to Austin to attend Le Cordon Bleu college of Culinary Arts where I learned more than I ever imagined I would. My parents were and always have been super supportive and helped me financially and emotionally throughout my journey in culinary school.

Right before my first year at LCB, the summer of 2013, I met Greg at Big Texas in Spring. We were both there listening to one of our favorite artist, The Turnpike Troubadours. He claims I was staring at him the entire night which I refuse to admit to, but I most definitely noticed him in the big crowd. I made my way past him and his friends hoping to somehow strike up a conversation. Luckily for me, one of his friends Clint Bob pulled me aside and introduced us. His exact words were "Have you met my friend Greg? He's a doctor." SWOON. He then spent the next half hour convincing me he was actually in med school while his friends took photos of us flirting (Proof below). We two stepped once to a slow song (which was when I learned he couldn't dance) and after a quick peck on the cheek I was gone. However, that very night, it didn't take me long to text him "so, when am I making you dinner?"
Our wing man, Clint Bob.
The very next day I made him chicken alfredo with bruschetta and got
entirely too drunk with his friends in Galveston.

We talked on and off until January 2014 and officially started dating March 8th. By December that same year we were undeniably crazy for each other and he asked me to spend forever with him on December 20th.

At Becker Vineyard in Fredericksburg, TX.
I could name a million reasons why I love this man and why we are absolutely perfect for each other but I believe the one thing that says it all, which I hope to capture in this blog, is that I just can't imagine feeding anyone else.
